Vargus was brought to the shelter on 09/05/14 when he was found as a stray. He is an awesome Rott/Shep mix who is about 5 years old and weighs 80 lbs. Vargus likes people but is not so fond of other dogs. He would need to be an only dog, and it is unknown how he is with cats. He would be okay for a home with older kids but may be too large and boisterous for younger children! Come meet this neat guy today to see if he is the one you've been searching for. UPDATE: Vargus was selected for the Rockville Women's Prison ADOPT program. He will be taught basic obedience, housetraining and socialization skills. Vargus is scheduled to graduate in mid December and is available for adoption reservation through the shelter. His adoption fee is $150. Unless otherwise stated, the adoption fee for one of our dogs is $110.00 which includes the animal's surgery, vaccinations, flea preventative, and deworming medication. Shelter policy is that all animals must be spayed or neutered prior to leaving the shelter. Any of our pets may also be micro-chipped for an additional $10.00 fee. Our shelter is open to the public on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm and other times by appointment.
